Investment Security of the Region as one of Factors of Interregional Differentiation in the Russian Federation
Vlasov M.V.
Abstract
In present-day conditions, the main objective of social and economic development of Russia’s regions is to improve the welfare, the standards and quality of life of the population. Investments are the main tool allowing one to solve the problem of increasing the efficiency of the economy, implementing structural shifts, introducing modern achievements of the technical progress, and improving indicators of economic security. The investment security of a region is one of the most important elements of economic security. It determines the solution of the problem of modernization and development of the economy of a particular region. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that the investment security of the region is an objective reason for increasing disproportions in the regional development of the country. The hypothesis of this research is that the increase in the level of investment security in the regions of Russia contributes to the socio-economic growth and development. The purpose of the research is to develop some practical recommendations for improving the level of investment security in the regions of the Russian Federation. In the course of the research, the theoretical and methodological foundations of the concept of "regional investment security" were considered. Secondly, the level of investment security of the regions was calculated; thirdly, a correlation analysis of the effect of investment safety on the social and economic situation of the regions was carried out. Identifying the relationship between investment security indicators and indicators of socio-economic development is the main aspect of the work. As a result, the hypothesis about the impact of the region's investment security on its socio-economic situation has been confirmed. The conclusion of the work is that in order to solve the problem of interregional differentiation, first of all, it is necessary to ensure an increase in the investment security of the region, using a whole range of measures. Ensuring investment security should be a priority for the state and the region throughout the process of modernization.
